GENERAL RULES AND BEHAVIOUR

RESPECT
Respect everyone equally, including staff members and those who may be new to the forum. We will not tolerate those with aggressive, and ignorant behaviour. We want everyone on the site to be welcomed, as a full community. Our reputation will not fall down because of someone who chooses to be obnoxious and rude. If you are truly someone who cares, assist those who choose to be targeted by the rude. Avoid possible subjects such as: religion, race, sexual beliefs and etc. Like we all know, if you want respect, you earn it from others. You can't expect people to respect you, if you cannot simply respect them.

PATIENCE
As a person, everyone has their own life. They have their own things to do outside of the forum. This applies specifically for staff members. They may not get your creation checked within a day, they may not be able to answer your questions completely, but all you have to do is wait. Unless the question is extremely urgent, you can wait for a response ASAP from the associated staff member. If something is not taken care of for a relatively long time, ask another staff member that is active or friendly member. We are all willing to take care of it!

DIVERSITY
Everyone here at NEA is welcome. We are a diverse community. No matter what you believe, what your race is, or what you love, we will try our best to give you the respect that you deserve. Do not express your hatred towards others just because you believe something that another doesn't. We will not tolerate any discrimination of any sort, whether it be racism, sexism, etc. If you feel differently from your fellow forum member, there is no need to express is in a offensive way.

PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism is a critical part of roleplay forums. You strictly cannot steal others work and claim it as your own. How would you like it if someone took your entire previous character application and just copied, and pasted? You wouldn't like it right? Well, do the right thing. As content owners, take pride in your work, and be honourable for not taking others. For example, all rights based upon Naruto itself (Jutsu, Summons, Villages, etc.) are all owned by the owner of Naruto; Masashi Kishimoto. It is highly prohibited, and if you are caught plagiarizing someones work, you will suffer the penalties following your crime.

LINKS
Links are normally linked to advertisements, images, or videos. Those things are limited to certain places. Images, or videos (that are appropriate to the following audience you are showing) are clearly allowed, even in the chatbox. On the other hand, advertising your site with both words and links, are not allowed anywhere besides the Advertisements forum. That is why it is there. If you are unsure about any links, ask a staff member that may be online.

MATURITY
This forum is for every age out there. There is no age limit, though there is one when registering on the forum. You are expected to respect everyone with the correct manners. Excessive use of profanity will not be tolerated around here, especially if it is used to harm another person. As for expectations, we expect that you will not post inappropriate content such as nudity, graphic violence, and etc. Everyone needs to feel welcome, not get scared off by some things that should be handled easily. This rule is pretty much common sense, and should not be something difficult to follow.

MODERATION
When members are really new to the RP community, they may not understand certain rules. Back-seat moderation is one of them. Back-seat moderation is when a member that is not concluded as a staff member, decides to step in and evaluate applications. This is not allowed at any point and time, unless pointed by an administrator. The said member, does not get any authority in such works, so we insist that you stay away from such things and let the staff do their part of the job.

Administrators will decide punishments if someone does not abide by the rules. Generally speaking, a person would receive warnings to stop whatever they are not following. Staff members hold the right to do what they feel will benefit the site- even if it means banning a member that may particularly deserve it. If any harm is done, action will be taken.

If you are a victim from any bullying from a member on the site, contact a staff member immediately. You hold the right to report the suspect, even if you think it's wrong. You also have the right to PM a staff member you feel comfortable around. Do not feel the need to PM someone you don't exactly trust! Once notified, we will deal with it as fast as we can. Do not let them overpower you.

If you are a witness to any of those situations, you also hold the right to report the problem. Do note that proof (such as screenshots) are highly recommended when reporting things like these. It will confirm that you aren't lying, and that such problems really did occur.

Rules are subjected to change.

POSTING & BUMPING

BUMPING
Applications undergo a process of checking, before it is actually approved for combat or anything in general. Sometimes, staff members may not see your creation because it get buried under all the others ones, but, it may just be they are busy. In order for people to get it to be seen, there is a concept called "bumping." This allows you to leave a post every day or so, so it gets put at the top of the list. Bumping is a good concept, however, there are limits to it. Firstly, bumping a thread can only be done every 48 hours. Anything under 48 will not be tolerated. Also remember to not pester staff members about it.

INACTIVITY
If you know you will be absent, notify your posting partners (via PMs), and make a topic in the Introductions & Farewells area. This will notify all the members, which will be a plus. Everyone will be aware, so that we know you haven't gone inactive! If you become absent because of something totally uncalled for (ie. family/friend deaths, no internet all of a sudden, broken computer) try to inform your group ASAP. Whether it be going on a phone, tablet, or even just borrowing your friend's internet by going to their house, it will be worth the time. It doesn't mean the day after you have to update us, but try your best to get your situation through so everyone understands.

CHATBOX BEHAVIOUR

FONT SIZE
Changing your font size is there, however not recommended. If you do choose to ever change your font size, never go past size 13. Not everyone is capable of having the best eyesight, so be considerate of the community. If you choose to make the font size smaller, you could do so, but do not got past the size of 9. If someone asks you to change it because they have trouble reading it, you are to do so.

FONT COLOUR
Font colours are a major thing when it comes to chats! You can have your own colour, which distinguishes you clearly whenever you are on chat. If someone asks you to change it because they have trouble reading it, you are to do so. Do not ignore orders from staff, or polite requests from other fellow members of the site.

LINKS
Links will be tolerated, however they must be site-age appropriate. If not, be considerate that no one in the chat is under age to the content you provide. If the link is associated to others forums, it is considered advertising, and it will not be permitted. Links to appropriate videos, images, or even used to guide others around the site will be allowed. If this rule is broken, you will be either kicked and/or warned. Constant linking to things that are off-topic, or even linking as advertising/spam will result to a temporary ban, and if done even after your return, a permanent ban shall be given.

LANGUAGE
The site is a English-limited site. This means we do not want people speaking other languages talking in the chat. Unless you are purposely communicating casually to just show off your linguistic abilities, there is no need to speak anything else besides English. Now regardless of the language that you are expected to communicate in, you are not to use any term or word to offend others. There are certain words that should not even be used such at the slang term for "negro." These terms, should they comply, be used under strict circumstances if you are joking around. For example, do not use these words around those that might not be of age, or if they find it offensive or annoying, should they complain, you should stop. Warnings (and/or kicks) will be made, and then bans commence.

SPAM
Spam comes at a big price, especially if it's used to bug others around you. Do not send messages full of random letters by smashing your head/hands on the keyboard, or random smilies that are provided by the site. No one likes spammers, especially if it's a constant action you do. If a online staff member, or even community RPer tells you to stop, please stop!

PUNISHMENTS

PUNISHMENTS
Punishments are to be decided by the staff members, and staff members alone. Punishments may range between a simple warning, to a permanent IP address ban. These consequences will only come in play based upon the severity of your site offense. If it is a little bit of spam in the chat, it may just be a few hour chat ban, or a few kicks. However, if it becomes more prominent as a regular occurrence, there is a chance of a temporary ban, should it be given the chance, lifted at any given time in a day. This is why staff members always advise new members, or even recurring members to check over the rules. Skimming over them is better than not reading it at all, so as long as you get the general premise of each rule that you should both follow, and agree to then you are good to go.

WARNINGS
Warnings are ways to 'warn' a member when they've done something wrong, or just not correct in general. When warnings are made - mainly by the staff members - you are advised to follow their orders. If it's telling you to stop saying a certain word, you must comply. If showed that you ignore these requests of warnings, you will be given a final chance to adhere to the to them. If not, bans will most likely be the final result, and likely not disputed, unless you really prove yourself otherwise.

BANNING
Banning, which usually occurs on explicit circumstances, will only be used against those that are deemed toxic to the site and it's community. Banning will depend on how severe your warnings, or offence was. If it's serious, either a permanent ban, or IP ban will be used. If not, it may be a temporary ban which would be lifted on a certain date. If you choose to ban evade (making a new account by toggling IP addresses etc.), we hold the rights to report you to the Forumotion services. If it becomes repetitive, you will continuously be banned, regardless of the situation we are in. Administration will take responsibility, even if it means they have to ban you fifty times.
